Plums have blossomed again at the Xiangxue Park. This rare sight is expected to continue through the Lunar New Chinese holiday.
In the midst of the recent persistent cold spell, plums at the Xiangxue Park have blossomed again, creating a spectacular sight. The blossoms are expected to continue through the Lunar New Year holiday, attracting an endless stream of visitors.
According to park officials, about 80% of the plums in the green area of the park have bloomed, and some 40% of the pink plums have also blossomed. If the present weather continues, all plums are expected to blossom during the Lunar New Year Holiday. Normally, plums at the park bloom from mid-December to mid-January, and the flowers would wither by the end of January; however, this year, the plums have blossomed twice, a rather rare occurrence according to local residents.
The park is open to the public free of charge.
