Prices for domestic tours had fallen by about 30 percent compared with the Spring Festival holidays, which ended Tuesday, according to local travel agencies.
The costs of tours to Hainan Province, a popular domestic destination, had fallen by a maximum of 53 percent, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Thursday (Feb 10).
The OCT Travel Agency charged only 2,250 RMB (341 USD) for a tour to Sanya in Hainan on Wednesday, 43 percent lower than 4,000 RMB during the holidays.
However, price falls of popular tours to places in South China such as Yunnan and Zhangjiajie were more moderate, according to the Shenzhen Overseas Travel Agency.
Prices of outbound tours had also fallen.
The cost of tours to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand had fallen by 50 percent, according to China Travel Service (Shenzhen).
The China Travel Service (Shenzhen) charged only around 2,000 RMB for a five-day tour to Thailand to start Friday, much lower than 4,280 RMB during the holidays.
A tour to the Maldives costs between 7,000 and 10,000 RMB compared with 30,000 RMB during the holidays.
