Stepping into the period of "twelfth five-year plan", Guangzhou has stood in a new start line, with its total industrial volume of about 1.5 trillion yuan and overall retail sales of social consumption products over 400 billion yuan. Its industrial and commercial development will focus on accelerating transformation and adjusting construction, push forward the reconstruction of manufacturing industry and enhance commercial trading by building international trade center.
Efforts will be taken to build Guangzhou an international trade center, a global leading manufacturing base, a promised land for SMEs and private enterprises, an international trade fair center, an international purchasing center, an international shopping heaven and a paradise for gourmets, according to Guangzhou Economic and Commercial Committee.
During the "twelfth five-year plan" period, Guangzhou will strive to increase the proportion of the added value of commercial and trade industry in the GDP of the whole city, build a number of listed commercial and trade enterprises, and cultivate a bunch of commercial and trade enterprises with tens of hundreds of billions retail sales per year.
From last winter to this spring, 16 large high-end commercial and trade projects have been opened, with the total commercial space of nearly 1.5 million square meters, the total volume of investment over 20 billion yuan. About 30 key commercial and trade projects are under construction. They are estimated to be finished and open in this year and the next.
