It was announced at the eighth session of the First Nansha People's Congress, that the Metro Line 4 extension to the Nansha Ferry Terminal will open in 2015, with construction commencing in 2013. This line extension will be 12 km long and contain 6 new metro stations.
"This project is now under initial stages of exploration and the exact site of the terminal has not yet been decided", said Hu Kangli, Director of Nansha Branch of Municipal City Planning Bureau. Two planning proposals for the exact location of the terminal is under consideration, one is directly at the terminal, the other is nearby in the Nansha Science and Technology Information Park..
"Both of the proposals make certain that the extension will reach Nansha Ferry Terminal", said Hu Kangli.
