Zhang Delong, Deputy Director of the High-tech Industries Section of International Enterprise Singapore, led a team from Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd and Comfort DelGro Corporation Limited which visited recently the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City. These two transportation giants showed great interest in the Knowledge City, and looked forward to cooperation in working together in the future on the construction and fabrication of electric vehicles.
Xinke, a subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd, is devoted to the research and development of electric vehicles and intelligent transportation, while Comfort DelGro Corporation Limited is one of the world's largest land transport companies. The Group's operations currently extend to 7 countries in the world and 14 cities in China, involving investment of nearly 2 billion yuan.
The Projects Management Office of the Knowledge City listened to the introduction made by these two successful companies, and proposed that an R&D center be set up in the City by Xinke. It is also suggested that an operations plan can be submitted to further the talks with the relevant municipal infrastructure and transportation planning departments.
Xinke and Comfort DelGro accepted this advice, and said they will prepare the proposal as soon as possible.
