China Southern Airlines bring last Chinese evacuees from Libya back to Guangzhou

The China Southern Airlines CZ8008, carrying 344 employees of the Beijing Construction Engineering Group (BCEG) evacuated from riot-torn Libya, arrived in Guangzhou at 21:00pm on March 5.

About 190 people were sent back to Jiangsu province immediately after the landing while the rest were provided with food and lodging before sending home today (March 6), according to Luo Jun, Director of External Security of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Province.

From February 26 to March 5, 22 chartered flights of China Southern Airlines have evacuated a total of 6649 Chinese back home. About 10 flights landed in Guangzhou, bringing back 3538 Chinese nationals, said Luo.
