The reception for the freshmen majored in Japanese was held in Guangzhou yesterday(March 19), attracting 550 students from 12 universities and colleges in Guangzhou and some members of Japanese Chamber of Commerce.
This event is held every year since 2002, aiming to introduce the Japanese enterprises in Guangzhou and the Japanese culture to the students majored in Japanese.
Consul General Kazuhiro Tajiri of Japan in Guangzhou delivered his speech at the reception. He greatly appreciated the support and the help China extended to the massive quake-hit Japan and pointed out that Japan will overcome this crisis with their strong efforts and the help of the countries in the world.
In this event, students from Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign language and Arts handed the donation of 2600 RMB to the Japanese Consulate General in Guangzhou, in order to extend their support to the Japanese affected by the catastrophic March 11 earthquake and ensuing tsunami.
