Guangdong Environmental Radiation Monitoring Center said on March 17, its monitoring stations had not detected any abnormal levels of radioactive substances.
After quake-damaged Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan started to release radiation, Guangdong has added three mobile emergency stations and two monitoring vehicles to Shantou, Jieyang and Chaozhou city, east Guangdong. They work with the existing 11 permanent nuclear monitoring stations around the province, and report no abnormal levels of radiation so far.
