Another Key Laboratory to be Established in ECUST

The proposal of building Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Chemical Process Control and Optimization Technology was formally approved by the Ministry of Education. There will be six Ministry of Education Key Laboratory until now with this one included.

The Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education of Chemical Process Control and Optimization of Advanced Technology is to improve resource and energy utilization, achieve the objective of saving energy for our country large-scale petro-chemical, coal chemical industry and chemical production processes. It is to further promote China's large-scale petro-chemical equipment, automatic control technology development and perfection with the research on optimization of chemical process and the involved process of modeling and flow simulation, the complexity of advanced chemical process control, process monitoring and health diagnosis, as well as process optimization and system integration, and the key common technologies and software, through the application and demonstration of a typical chemical process.

The establishment of Key Laboratory will also promote the construction of the three projects, which are "Control Theory and Control Engineering , a National key discipline and the Shanghai Key Discipline project, "innovation platform of 985 advantageous disciplines " project and "211 Project" -- a project of 100 Key Universities in 21^st century.
