Vice-president of African Union Commission visited Tongji University

On the morning of September 16th, Mr. Erastus J.O. Mwencha, Vice-president of African Union Commission, and other 5 representatives visited Tongji University. Tongji Committee Chair Zhou Jialun and president assistant Ding Jiemin met with the delegation.

Vice-president of African Union Commission visited Tongji University

Chair Zhou Jialun introduced sponsor project to African students, high-end training programme and research cooperation in Tongji University, hoped to expand and strengthen cooperation with African countries in the future. Ding Jiemin briefed the under construction project new African Union Center, which was designed by Tongji, and presented a shot video about the building design concept.
Erastus J.O. Mwencha highly appreciated the great contribution Tongji made for Sino-Africa cooperation and friendship between the people in two countries, and would send more African students to study in our university. He also encouraged African universities to carry out closer cooperation with Tongji University.

Patrick Mazimhaka, Deputy Chairman of African Union, and Jean PING, president of African Union, had successively visited our university in July 2007 and September 2009.
