Dr. Marco Ali appreciated the cooperation between Tongji University and Italian universities or research institutes. He said the Italian Ministry of Education had been actively involved in the EU Framework Programme, the international scientific research cooperation department was responsible for scientific cooperation between governments.
The sum for EU 8th Framework Programme would rise to 100 billion euros in the future, of which the Italian government would be responsible for the project coordination and development in three areas: health, food and cultural heritage. He hoped that Tongji University would actively participate in the programme, and the Italian Ministry of Education would support the cooperation as always between Italian universities or agencies and Chinese universities like Tongji University.
