On September 11th, Social and Inclusive Design Seminar was held in Aalto-Tongji Design Factory. This event is organized by the British Embassy and Sino-Finnish Centre of Tongji University which will be officially established in this November. People from NGOs for the aged, the disabled, migrant children and community service, and so on participated in this event.
Professor Jeremy Myerson from Royal College of ART and Professor Ezio Manzini, from Desis-Network explained the inclusive design from the product design and service design s points of view. Then they showed the charm of inclusive design with different cases. Subsequently, with the collaboration of designers and NGO, the nine teams created several targeted products and services. After the vote, Public construction for visually impaired people , Rainbow Bridge, the marketing for hand-made soap and Community care for the old, the joint resident were selected as the three best ideas.
