International Association of Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS), a worldwide organization of about 700 engineers, architects, academics and builders with an interest in long-span and light-weight structures, held its 2010 annual conference in Shanghai on Nov. 8-12. Prof. Pei Gang, the President of Tongji University, and Prof. Chen YiYi, the Vice President, attended the opening ceremony on Nov. 8. Prof. Pei, and Prof. John Abel, the Chairman of IASS, addressed the ceremony.
Annual conference of IASS aims at providing opportunities for experts and professionals on architecture and structure to communicate and exchange ideas of the latest trend and academic development. The 2010 annual conference was hosted jointly by Tongji University, Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Architectural Engineer Group.
