Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University visits Tongji

On Dec. 8, Prof. Pei Gang, the President of Tongji University, met with Prof. Hywel Thomas, Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University at Tongji University, accompanied by deputy director of Educational Affairs Office.


Prof. Pei Gang introduced international cooperation plans of Tongji University and education reforms that are undergoing now in China. He mentioned that some world-wide known universities had been deepening collaboration with Chinese universities by setting up new campus in China. This model will benefit to not only both parties and also local government. Prof. Pei also expressed interests in cooperating with Cardiff University in civil engineering and design. Prof. Ye Weimin, the deputy director of Educational Affairs Office, discussed issues on double-degree program with Prof. Thomas latterly.
