At the end of February, 2010 the second batch of exchange students from CUC to Shixin University in Taiwan arrived inTaipei, starting their four-month study and life.
Since the exchange announcement published by CUC Hong-Macao-Taiwan Affairs Office in October last year, 30 students, including 16 undergraduates and 14 graduates, were enlisted in this exchange activity based on their voluntary applications) and screening by relevant departments. Students are from Television and Journalism School, Foreign Language School, TV and Film Arts School, Advertisement School, Animation School, Media Management School, and Policy and Law School.
CUC Hong-Macao-Taiwan Affairs Office held a meeting before their exchange journey in order to guarantee a good outcome, asking four requirements of the students: firstly, insure personal safety and property security; secondly, abide by local laws and regulations of the school; thirdly, cherish the opportunity and try to gain some achievements in study, and finally do not forget to exercise and take precautions against A/H1N1.
The first batch of exchange students with Taiwan came back to Beijing in January this year. They said that such exchanging activity was valuable, and through the study on campus and practice in media field, they had cognized and understood the status and trend of journalism and communication industry.
Besides, they have developed strong bond with teachers and students after they took part in a variety of association activities, visited key points of interests and experienced the social life. This exchange activity to Taiwan based on the experience of last time, aims to explore students professional horizon and strengthen the communication and cooperation with Taiwan.
Shixin University is a journalism and communication university with common feature in the major setting with CUC, and two schools have had contact since 16 years ago.
