On the morning of May 13th, Secretary Li Peiyuan met with the delegation of Shih Hsin University of Taiwan, which is headed by Chairman Cheng Jialing.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the nearly 20-year s friendship and cooperation, and expressed the hope to consolidate existing exchanges and the intentions for more virtual in-depth cooperation. Secretary Li pointed it out, as both universities have selected media as their educational goal, they share a lot. The results of exchange and cooperation have been therefore distinct and effective. The significance has gone beyond the everyday exchanges between the two universities, having made much positive contribution to the Cross-Strait exchanges. At present, the Cross-Strait situation is positive, the two sides should conform to this historical trend, aiming to have more substantial exchanges of educational concepts and management experience, and to promote the development and innovation of the media higher education sector of Cross-Straits and even global media.
Chairman Cheng of Shih Hsin University said that Shih Hsin University, as the private university of rich education experience in Taiwan media field, for five consecutive years was named University Teaching Excellence , and was top in all of the selected universities. After years of fierce competition in Taiwan, some private universities located in remote areas have been difficult to sustain. But Shih Hsin University uses the geographical advantage and excellent teaching resources to keep on growing. It has been very successful in private universities operating mechanism, namely in raising funds, management, teaching and so on. It thus has accumulated a wealth of experience.
The two sides also discussed about the conditions and effectiveness of two prior groups of the exchange students to Shih Hsin University, Shih Hsin University also thought highly of the comprehensive qualities and communication ability of the CUC students, and thought that it fully reflected the CUC s high educational quality and standard. They hoped that CUC could continue to send high-quality student to go to study at Shih Hsin University.
The leaders from Shih Hsin University attending the meeting also included Mou Zongcan, the director and the former vice president of Shih Hsin University, President Lai Dingming of Shih Hsin University, Vice President Xiong Jie, Xu Renhui, the dean of College of Management, Chief Secretary Li Gongqing and Li Yanfeng, the director of Management Committee of Subsidiary unit and so on.
CUC s Assistant Principal Liu Liqun and professor Bao Lei in charge of the exchange projects of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan also attended the meeting.
