On July 16th, 2010, President Su Zhiwu met with the visiting Professor Josh Friedman from Journalism School at Columbia University, USA, who was also a Pulitzer Journalism Prize winner. Both sides exchanged views about journalism education, international academic exchange and so on.
President Su pointed out that in the implementation of the strategy of internationalization, Communication University of China attached great importance to the cooperation with world famous universities and hoped that through the exchange and cooperation, CUC could further enhance her international competitiveness. President Su introduced the basic situation of International League of Higher Education in Media and Communication initiated by CUC to Professor Josh. And he pointed out that to set up International League of Higher Education in Media and Communication is to provide a platform to all league schools for more exchanges and cooperation, which aims to deepen mutual understanding and friendship. Journalism School of Columbia University enjoys a high reputation in the field of journalism education. Both sides should strengthen exchanges and cooperation in discipline construction, joint research projects, as well as teachers and students exchange and other fields in the future.
Professor Josh spoke highly of CUC s achievements in the field of higher media education and introduced the unique educational philosophy and teaching methods of Journalism School of Columbia University. Professor Josh indicated that if CU and CUC could reach cooperation, both sides could achieve new development in journalism education and other fields.

After the meeting, Professor Josh visited School of Animation and New Media Research Institute of CUC. During the following days, Professor Josh would run a series of lectures in CUC, and engage in other academic activities.
Professor Josh has worked up to 32 years in the newspaper during which he has earned many News Award. And in 1989, he won the Pulitzer journalism Prize.
