On the afternoon of March 11th, 2010, the first batch of students from CUC returned from their visit to TBS , with their objectives achieved.
This program started on February 28th, and lasted 12 days. Under the arrangement of TBS International Department, 7 seniors of CUC visited TBS s headquarters in Akasaka , acquainting themselves with every department s work, and got familiar with the operating mode and strategies of program line-up, content scrutiny, new media exploration and promotion through attending lectures, visiting the live program transcribing and TV series shooting base etc. At the same time, TBS arranged individual mentorship for students according to their different majors. For example, students majored in advertisement paid a visit to the Japan Dentsu Advertisement Corporation and the advanced technology and facilities. These arrangements helped the students to put theory learned in class into practice.
Besides, Students also visited the Chinese Embassy in Japan, Toshodai Temple in Nara and Tokyos noted temples. They recognized the close ties between Chinas culture and Japans and further understood the importance of historical and cultural heritages protection and succession.)
During the whole program, students produced a piece of three-minute news based on the study content in groups, and they also wrote press releases, anchored programs, recorded and edited under the TBS staff concerned. The leader of TBS spoke highly of the news after watching. The students said that this experience was a precious opportunity to broaden their international horizon and experience different culture, and improve their study and work abilities, taste as well as adaptation. They also showed their gratitude to CUC and TBS for offering such an opportunity.
Since 2006, under the joint effort of CUC and TBS, the system of TBS breeding elites research and studies has drawn great attention among teachers and students.)Thirty-five students in CUC in total have won the TBS scholarship so far.
