On the afternoon of March 8th, 2011, CUCs President Su Zhiwu, accompanied by Vice President Hu Zhengrong, met with the visiting party of five from Bournemouth University(BU), UK, led by Vice President John Vinney. The two sides held talks on the cooperation of joint research, student/staff exchanges, joint education and so on. After the talk the two sides signed the joint educational agreement.
President Su Zhiwu extended welcome to Mr. Vinney s visit. He said, since 2006, the two universities have achieved fruitful results in the area of personnel training. Based on their long friendship and solid cooperation foundation, both parties can continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields of joint research, student/staff exchanges, joint education and so on. BU is a league university of the "International Union of Higher Education in Media", with the union platform, cooperation and exchanges between the two uiversities have broader prospects, and this will produce lasting and far-reaching influence for both sides in the aspects of scientific research, program development, student/staff exchanges, etc. and bring new achievements to both sides in the forefront fields of interdisciplinary research. Meanwhile, President Su expressed the hope that the two schools continued to make efforts to create new development situation in the area of joint education.
Vice President John Vinney showed appreciation to the school strength and comprehensive teaching conditions of CUC, and expressed their hope to strengthen cooperation with CUC. Mr. Vinney said there are many discipline connection points between Bournemouth University and CUC, Bournemouth University is pleased to explore new modes of cooperation and expand bilateral exchange fields on the basis of the two parties cooperation in the past,.
After the meeting, President Su Zhiwu and Vice President John Vinney signed an agreement, "Joint Education for Master of Media Management Practice Arts".

Bournemouth University is a leading university in the UK, its many courses, including financial services, tax laws, the media industry, archeology, biology and so on rank the first in the country. The university currently has a student population of 14,000, of which 160 students are Chinese, accounting for 10% of all foreign students. As a university focuses on teaching practical skills to students, its employment rate of graduates ranks the second of all UK universities. Since 2006, CUC and Bournemouth University have carried out effective cooperation with CUC in the field of personnel training, with the projects of 1+1 dual master, selecting students to study for a PhD supported by government scholarship, joint training of doctorate stuents aided by government scholarship and so on. There are other joint educational projects under discussion, including IMBA and EMBA.
