Late Prof. Wang Xuan Honored as Most Influential Labor Model since the Founding of PRC

Peking University, Beijing, Dec. 22, 2009: On December 22, Prof. Chen Kunqiu of the Institute of Computer Science & Technology of Peking University (PKU), who is the wife of late Prof. Wang Xuan, received the Golden Medal of Pacemaker of the Era Most Influential Labor Model since the Founding of PRC from Prof. Zhou Qifeng, President of PKU, and Sun Li, Executive Vice President of PKU Labor Union.


On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC, the selection of Pacemaker of the Era Most Influential Labor Model since the Founding of PRC was launched by All-China Federation of Labor. The candidates are recipients of the National Labor Models, the National Work Medal Winners, and the representatives frm advanced unions who attended the National Labor Model Commendation Conference (including the deceased). Late Prof. Wang Xuan was selected as the Pacemaker of the Era Most Influential Labor Model since the Founding of PRC .


60 outstanding representatives were awarded this title. They are labor models from various sections of the society, such as innovative technical workers, scientists, entrepreneurs who have made tremendous contributions to the development of China s economy, and leaders in the new rural construction.
