Zhang Xin, CEO and co-founder of SOHO China, in the exhibition hall at the office where her latest developments are showcased. Building on her Masters degree in economic development from Cambridge University as well as experience with Goldman Sachs, thirty-seven year old Zhang Xin has made SOHO one of China's most dynamic and avant garde grand scale real estate development groups for which she is receiving international acclaim. Her developments include two projects called SOHO New Town, each one lodging over 2,000 people in apartments which sell for over $500,000. She also masterminded and developed the "Commune by the Great Wall" which comprises 11 highly stylized villas constructed by Asia's most innovative architects, and is situated at the very foot of the hills just below the Great Wall of China where it passes through Shuigan. For this project Zhang Xin was the first Chinese person to receive the Silver Lion award at the Biennale of Venice.
