China's Second National Assessment Report on Climate Change Being Drafted

A team of experts from CAS, Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and China Meteorological Administration just started drafting the second National Assessment Report on Climate Change in Beijing. The vice-president of CAS, academician Ding Zhongli, headed as the deputy director of the team.
In succeeding the first report, the second report will be expanded into five chapters: observed and projected climate changes, impacts of and adaptation to climate change, social and economic evaluations of climate change, assessment of the evaluation methods in global climate change, and policies and measures, key areas of actions, as well as achievements to address climate change. With the first three chapters following the format of the first report, the last two chapters will be totally new to the second report. The report is expected to be finished by 2010.
The first National Assessment Report on Climate Change was initiated in December 2002, and was released in December 2006.
