FAW VITA qualified through comprehensive collision tests

Write: Talman [2011-05-20]

In the other day, FAW VITA to be released by Tianjin FAW soon was successfully qualified all the four collision tests (including 100% frontal collision, side collision, rear collision and 40% offset collision) in the collision laboratory of China Automotive Technology & Research Center, representing that FAW VITA has been fully up to the national safety standards and making FAW VITA the first to have been successfully qualified through all-collision tests among domestic automakers.

According to the results of the collision tests conducted by China Automotive Technology & Research Center, FAW VITA s front and side collision indicators were up to The Protection of the Occupants in the Event of a Frontal Collision for Passenger Cars GB 11551-2003 and The Protection of the Occupants in the Event of a Side Collision for Passenger Cars GB 20071-2006 currently in effect in the country respectively with their measured data far lower than those required by regulations; its rear collision indicators were fully up to The Requirents of Fuel Syst Safety of Rear-end Collision for Passenger Car GB 20072-2006 of the state, in collision, there was no fluid leak of the fuel syst and the rear windshield rained in good conditions; its 40% offset indicators were fully up to C-NCAP, many of which were even smaller than minimal (five-star) value of C-NCAP serial evaluation.

However, there was no other domestic car brands having received the all-collision tests before, as to the background in which Tianjin FAW received the tests actively, industrial insiders believed that FAW VITA blending in Tianjin FAW s 20 years of professional experience in car making and essence of the NBC-based technology and comprehensively innovated in safety, operability, reliability and applicability would be released soon, FAW VITA s qualification through all-collision tests this time could satisfy the standards for side and rear collision to be implented officially by the state from July 1, as well as the stricter C-NCAP standards for car safety evaluation in terms of 40% offset collision, this move not only showed that domestic enterprises independent innovation had upgraded from pure external design to command and application of core technologies, but prepared FAW VITA for its strong entry into domestic and foreign markets.

Background

The two state standards-The Protection of the Occupants in the Event of a Side Collision for Passenger Cars and The Requirents of Fuel Syst Safety of Rear-end Collision for Passenger Car are to be implented officially from July 1, marking the gradual perfection of China s car safety standards and an important step to internationalization and posing higher requirents to automakers. With the rapid increase in the number of cars possessed, safety performance especially collision safety has become an important factor consumers shall take into account in car purchase.

100% frontal collision

FAW VITA s frontal collision indicators were fully up to The Protection of the Occupants in the Event of a Frontal Collision for Passenger Cars GB 11551-2003, and were far smaller than those required by regulations in terms of extent of head damage and thigh stress, also, the two evaluation indicators were smaller than the minimal value of the C-NAP serial evaluation. It could perfectly protect the driver s head and thighs perfection in the event of a front collision.

Side collision

FAW VITA s side collision indicators were fully up to The Protection of the Occupants in the Event of a Side Collision for Passenger Cars GB 20071-2006, and were far lower than those required by regulations in terms of measured data of head, chest, abdomen and pelvis damage. It could perfectly protect the driver from damage in the event of a side collision.

Rear collision

FAW VITA s rear collision indicators were fully up toThe Requirents of Fuel Syst Safety of Rear-end Collision for Passenger Car GB 20072-2006, in collision, there was no fluid leak of the fuel syst and the rear windshield rained in good conditions

40% offset collision

As a result of FAW VITA s offset collision with the test method of the C-NCAP evaluation syst, all the indicators of head, neck, thigh and leg damage were far smaller than the minimal (five-star) value of the C-NCAP serial evaluation. It could perfectly protect the driver in the event of an offset collision.
