China Shipping (Singapore) Holding Pte., Ltd held the Southeast Asia Agency Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 30, 2005. Zhang Guofa (Vice President of China Shipping (Group) Company), Jia Hongxiang (CSCL General Manager), Chen Wei (General Manager of Marketing Division I), Jing Shuai (Vice Manager of Marketing Department of Marketing Division II) and other persons attended the meeting. Various agents in Southeast Asia and China Shipping (Singapore) Holding Pte., Ltd delivered reports on their cargo-canvassing situation in the first half year of 2005 as well as the next-step working arrangements, and also raised suggestions about the existing problems at present.
Zhang Guofa, Vice President of China Shipping (Group) Company, introduced the operation situation and tasks of main fleets of the group to all participants. He said, to adapt to the transport capacity development of containership fleets, everyone should recognize the importance of the market in Southeast Asia, should do great efforts to canvass more cargos, and should increase the market share. He affirmed the business progress made in Southeast Asia in the first half year of 2005, and analyzed and explained suggestions raised by participants.
General Manager Jia Hongxiang introduced the overall arrangement of new containership lines of the second half year of 2005 and the first half year of 2006, and gave a clear answer for freight adjustment requirements, and reaffirmed cargo-canvassing indicators of pending American eastward-westward line, North Africa lines and other new lines. He also stated four-point comments and requirements of Europe-Mediterranean westward berth problems, Europe-Mediterranean line berth utilization, strengthening Southeast Asia network construction and business work, freight callback deadline problems and so on.
