President Li Met Greek Minister of Merchant Marine

On June 23, Mr. Li Kelin, Chairman of China Shipping Group and President of CSCL, and Vice President Zhang Guofa, met a delegation led by Manolis Kefaloyannis, the Greek Minister of Merchant Marine, in Shanghai. They held a sincere talk on the development of shipping cooperation relationship between China Shipping Group and Greece, the proposed establishment of container forwarding center in Greece and some other issues.
Minister Kefaloyannis was on a visit to China at the invitation of Zhang Chunxian, Minister of Communications of People s Republic of China. In the morning of June 23, the delegation called on Yang Xiong, Vice Mayor of Shanghai People's Municipality. Zhang Guofa, Jia Hongxiang (General Manager of China Shipping Group) and some other leaders participated the occasion. Then, the delegation went to Suntime International Mansion in Pudong by car for talk with China Shipping Group.
During the talking, President Li Kelin gave a detailed introduction on the current business cooperation between China Shipping Group and Greek merchant marine industry, including line-attaching to Piraeusp Port, ship lease, seafarer dispatching, ship repairs, and so on. Minister Kefaloyannis introduced the recent developments of Greek naval transportation industry and welcomed the mutual benefit cooperation between China Shipping Group and Greek naval transportation industry. He also introduced the construction status of new ports in Crete Island pushed by Greek government and the other issues.
President Li pointed out that, China Shipping Group intends to seek some suitable ports in the Mediterranean Sea to build its own forwarding centers. Since Greece lies in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, it is an ideal place. Therefore, China Shipping Group will carefully study the port programs introduced by Minister Kefaloyannis to further develop the cooperation with Greek naval transportation industry.
After the talk, Preside Li Kelin also hosted a feast for the Greek delegation in the St. Regis Hotel.
