Celebration over Breakthrough of 1000000 TEU Container Throughputs in Lianyungang Port

On Dec. 22 2005, the celebration ceremony over the Operation of Phase 3 Project of Miaoling Wharf, Throughput of 1000000 TEU Container and the Opening of Jetty Quay Project was held jointly by Lianyungang municipal government and CSCL, consecutively there held contract signing ceremony for the establishment of CSCL trailer factory and container (logistics) equipment industrial park. Party Secretary Li Yuanchao of Jiangsu Province hailed his concern and greeting in his telephone, Ministry of Communications mailed special letter of congratulations, Mr. He Quan, Deputy-Governor of Jiangsu Province attended the celebration ceremony and signing ceremony on behalf of Provincial Party Committee and Provincial government. President Li Kelin, Mr. Wang Daxiong and Zhang Guofa of CSCL were also present in the celebration with other officers from departments and branches related.
Under special care and support from Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and provincial government, CSCL strengthened her freight allotment in shipping services and shipping load over Lianyuangang region in 2005 with whole container freight of 520,000TEU, much more than the previously promised 500,000TEU. Meanwhile, the newly constructed New Oriental Container Port Co., Ltd., 55% share held by CSCL, has also escalated promotion and marketing with support and coordination by Lianyungang Port Group Limited, the newly constructed port attracts clients near and far with a throughput of 1000,000TEU containers, thus completely achieved the objective set by Jiangsu Provincial Committee. Furthermore, the deed made Lianyungang now No. 8 container port across China and step a big upsurge for the expectation of Oriental Port . The opening and construction of Phase 3 Miaoling Wharf and back depot, formal commencement of jetty quay project jointly enhance the scale and throughput for the newly constructed port, moreover, provided potential for later development.
Besides cooperation in container industry with Lianyungang, CSCL drew another blueprint on container and logistic equipment development. CSCL (Lianyungang) Container Manufacture Company Limited will successfully realize manufacture objective of 35000 container folds since its construction and being put into operation on August. CSCL will launch trailer manufacture project with Hong Kong Singamas Container Holdings Limited and U.S.A Interpool Inc., the investment project come to an agreement after detailed cooperation & negotiation intention signing since August 2005. CSCL discussed construction plan of Lianyungang Container (logistics) Equipment Industrious Park with Lianyungang municipal government and Lianyungang Economic Development Zone in detail. The upcoming industrious park will contain manufacture establishment and facility in bulk container, ref container, special container, trailer and other related components, it is estimated a total amount of 14 billion Yuan after completion of the project will be brought out, therefore a new highlight for Lianyungang economy development. The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement was held in Shenzhou Hotel of Lianyuangang.
President Li made a site visit on container and equipment manufacture industrious park, heard the work report by industrious park organization team, He also took an inspection on board Xin Changshu vessel and all seamen with Deputy-Governor He Quan, Party Secretary Wang Jianhua, and Mayor Liu Yongzhong of Lianyungang city.
