On Nov. 2, 2006, President Li Shaode met Chairman Tommy Thomson of APM Terminals- Maersk Group partner and other affiliates, there launched friendly discussions and views exchange over the closer communication and multi-level cooperation between the two giants.
During their discussion and meeting, President Li Shaode and Chairman Thomson introduced respective business operation, recalled the current international container shipping status, and maintained that the increasing shipping cargo, closer communication and cooperation between shipping liners should stimulate a upcoming healthy development of the shipping industry; there should be space for further cooperation between China Shipping Group and Maersk Group in service line, slot exchange, global terminal service, exchange over management and service concept and others to create a win-win code. Whereas, as a leading world container terminal operator, APM Terminals owns a global terminal service network and thus foster a resourceful terminal management experience, on the other hand, China Shipping Port Development has grown to a relatively large scale, and is striving for oversea port or terminal construction across Europe and American with great development plan, therefore, there should exist a wide space for mutual cooperation and interaction, mostly successful case is the joint investment on Shanghai Yangshan Island terminal construction.
Director cum General Manager Huang Xiaowen of China Shipping Container Lines, management members from Maersk Group and others related also attended the meeting.
