Xuannan culture in the eyes of foreign friends

The year 2010 sees a new round of the photo contest Beijing in the Eyes of Foreigners . Its theme this year is People s Beijing in the Eyes of Foreign Friends . The Organizing Committee of the Photo Contest consists of the Beijing People s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and other governmental departments. Recently, the contest has brought its participants to the southern part of the new Xicheng district to collect materials of the Xuannan culture.

Xuannan the southern part of Xicheng District is regarded as the original site of China s capital, where today stand various symbols of its past, such as theatres, guild halls and temples. The Xuannan culture has greatly influenced the culture of Beijing, even the nation.

Foreigners from the contest went to Taoranting park, Xuannan culture museum, Kongzhu museum and Baoguo Temple flea market to shoot the photoes of exercising people, traditional Chinese handicraft articles.

The contest s deadline of submission is October 15, 2010.
