Christmas Party hosted by the International Office
Christmas is perhaps the most
popular western festival in China, especially among young
people. On evening of Dec. 23rd, the International office hosted
a Christmas party for all the international teachers and
students, domestic teachers and student representatives were
also invited.
A buzzing group dancing the Rabbits Hop opened the party. Games,
songs, dances and a lucky draw drew laughter and applause from
the audience. Paul Winning, a Scottish teacher who has played
taichi for several years, performed traditional Yang Styles
taichi for the audience. Matthew Kelm and McKenna Jandrey, both
from Minnesota, USA, led the audience in singing the joyous
Christmas melody Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer. As all the
participants sang in chorus to a rendition of the traditional
New Year song Auld Lang Syne in high spirits directed by
American teacher James Morgante, the party in the name of
friendship was concluded.
