The 34 th Delegation of WMO Ministerial level Visiting NUIST
The 34 th delegation of WMO ministerial level arrived in Nanjing on October 14, which started the two-day's visiting to our university.
The delegation was composed of the administrators from 15 countries including Burma , Thailand , and Croatia and the officers from WMO. Professor Sun Zhaobo, president of the University, warmly greeted the delegation in the reception room. He introduced in English the history and achievements of fostering international meteorological talents by the university and the international students in the university.
After greeting, the delegation, accompanied by Ye Qihao, director of the foreign affairs, visited the RMTC guesthouse, China-America Cooperative Remote Sensing Center , and other places. And they studied china's meteorological work, research, management and the construction of meteorology modernization.
The delegation attended the the management training seminar for meteorological administrators in developing countries on October 15, which was being held in the university.
WMO RMTC, Nanjing is the international training institution on the campus of NUIST ratified by the UN in 1993, which is also the first international training center in China by the UN. So far 22 international training courses and seminars have been held. 518 trainees from 86 countries and regions accepted the training, who have become the backbone of the meteorological work and management.
