Flag-raising Ceremony Held to Greet the New Semester

On the morning of March 1, the flag-raising ceremony was held at the Navigation Plaza at Lingang New Campus, SMU. Prof. Kong, Fancun, Vice President of SMU attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Liu, Quansheng, Director of the SMU Paramilitary Management Office presided over the ceremony.

Prof. Kong extended high praise to the outstanding performance achieved in paramilitary management with concerted efforts of SMU teachers and students. He asks all present to keep in mind as follows: 1) to be devoted to shipping industry with the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center underway; 2) to be assiduous students to improve academic performance and to nurture good qualities in the shipping environment SMU provided; 3) to take an active part in Shanghai World Expo by fulfilling the responsibilities as volunteers and actors.

Prof. Kong especially worked up the spirits of students who will act in EXPO.
