SCUT professor wins 4th Invention and Entrepreneurship Award

On April 21, the award ceremony of 3rd Chinese Inventor Forum and 4th Invention & Entrepreneurship Award was held at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. Professor ZHOU Zhentao from the School of Material Science and Engineering of SCUT was honored the 4th Invention and Entrepreneurship Award. The activity is hosted by China Association of Inventions, and supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, All-China Federation of Trade Unions, State Intellectual Property Office, Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and China Association for Science and Technology.

The selection is held every two years, producing no more than 50 winners for one selection. There were 47 winners this time, including 8 Special Award winners and 39 Invention and Entrepreneurship Award winners.

Focused on new types of battery, Professor Zhou has won 28 authorized invention patents, 5 utility model patents, 1 design patent, and 8 accepted invention patents. Most of his patent technologies have been adopted and industrialized by many companies, receiving good economic and social benefits.
