On May 13, the final of 2009 Microsoft "Imagine Cup" Software Design Competition (China) was held in Beijing. Twenty teams from renowned domestic colleges and universities including Tsinghua University and University of Science and Technology of China competed for the championship. SCUT team comprised of two undergraduates TAO Zui and ZOU Wei as well as a graduate student ZHENG Lixiong from the School of Computer Science and Engineering did a wonderful job in designing a quasi-operating system for children and ranked 2nd of all teams.
It is known that the global competition of Microsoft "Imagine Cup" was initiated in 2003 with the aim of inspiring young students and cultivating their innovative abilities, which has now become one of the global largest-scale students' technology competitions.
