From November 6 to 9, Prof. Jiang Shuzhuo, Vice President of Jinan University visited Lumbini Buddhist University and Kathmandu University in Nepal.
Since the Institute of Chindia Studies was founded, Jinan University has been actively developing cooperation with South Asian countries. Through staff exchange, holding international conferences, JNU has built up a closer relationship with India and Nepal. This visit further strengthened the relationship between JNU and universities in Nepal.
During the visit to Lumbini Buddhist University, Prof. Jiang signed an MOU with Prof. Tri Ratna Manandhar, Vice Chancellor of the university. JNU is planning to set up a center for Chinese Culture at LBU.
During the visit to Kathmandu University, Prof. Jiang met with Prof. Bhadra Man Tuladhar, Registrar of the university. The two sides has reached agreement on signing an MOU. Vice Chancllor of KU is visiting Guangzhou from November 12 to 14 to attend the Asian University Presidents Forum. Prof. Jiang will sign a formal agreement with him on the forum.
Prof. Jiang also met Ms. Prem Krumari Pant during the visit.
Directors from the Social Science Department, Institute of Chindia Studies and International Affairs Office accompanied the visit.
