On the afternoon of October 12, in academic meeting room of college of pharmacy, Dr. Tunnacliffe Peng gave an academic report on the topic In vivo activity of Chinese herb extracts in nematodes and mammalian cells. Prof. Wencai Ye hosted the meeting. Academic staffs from college of pharmacy, Yao Xinsheng, Jiang Renwang, Yu Pei, Yao Zhihong were present at the meeting.
About 70 postgraduate students attended the meeting and put questions actively . Dr. Tunnacliffe introduced drug screening models based on transgenic nematodes and mammalian cells in microplates, and the wide use of these models in the screening and molecular mechanism study of extract of TCM and natural products.
Dr. Tunnacliffe also discussed with teachers and students of our university on the new model and methods of screening of TCM. Teachers and students benefited greatly from Dr. Tunnacliffe s presentation. The lecture was rounded off with warm applause. Dr. Tunnacliffe s visit is useful for promoting corporation and friendship.
