2006 Teachers Day Awarding Meeting

Our university held a teachers' commendation meeting of 2006 on the afternoon of September 8th. Several university heads, including Hu Jun, Jiang Shuzhuo, Jia Yiming, Lu Daxiang, Ji Zong'an, Wang Hua, Zhou Tianhong, and Liu Jiesheng, attended the meeting, together with all of the middle-level leaders and some advanced individuals. The meeting was held by Jia Yiming, vice president of our university.
Hu delivered an inspiring speech, titled respect teacher and teaching & try to be good teachers . He gave greetings of Teachers' Day and sincere wishes to all the teachers who had been working hard on their jobs, as well as the retired teachers and university leaders who made great contribution to the university's development.
Then presidents Hu looked back on the achievements of the past year. Meanwhile, he called on all the teachers to cherish our university's title the highest university for overseas Chinese , carry forward the fine traditions and make greater achievements in the new centenary.
Jiang Shuzhuo, general sectary of party office of Jinan University, announced the name list of advanced groups and individuals of 2006. Wang Yue and other twenty-one old professors were awarded the tile of 'lifetime's contribution to Jinan University'; Accounting faculty in management department with other twenty units received the honor of 'advanced group'; Guo Xi and other 195 teachers won themselves the title of 'advanced individual'; 211 project office with other 4 units were give special prizes.
