The First Session of University Informatization Program Launched

Mr. Jia Yimin said the central task of the informationization program was to achieve an effective integration of various kinds of resources of the university, which can be shared on a unified platform in the first session of the program. Looking back to the road of informationization of Jinan university, Mr.

Jia said our university was one of the few universities pioneered the notion of informationizational campus in China. As early as in 1995, the campus network of JNU was launched, which made the university became one of the first one hundred universities that had their campus networks put on the internet.

However, the pace of informational process slowed down in recent years due to the lack of a systematic strategy to direct the construction, an effective integration of different sources and unified data. Also, the degree of informationization in the various aspects of teaching is rather low.
