The First Affiliated Hospital Successfully Holds Urolithiasis Summit
The 2007 World and Pearl Delta Summit of Urolithiasis was successfully held in Dong Guan of Guangdong Province by the first affliated hospital of our university and other organizations of urolithiasis studies.
Present on the summit included celebrities and experts in the field of urolithiasis studies.
Mr. Su Zexuan, the Chairman, from the first affiliated hospital of our university delivered a opening address.
Mr. Guo Yinglu delivered a speech in retrospect to the history and development of the research on Urolithiasis in the world.
The incidence of urolithiasis, with the discovery of this disease dates back to 7,000 years ago, has been increasing steadily in recent years due to its complicated pathogeny and limited precaution towards. Young population especially, due to the modern life style they have adopted is a high-risk group for urolithiasis.
The high-risk regions of urolithiasis include Thailand, Great Britain, U.S.A, Mediterranean countries and China etc. The high-risk regions of urolithiasis in China are usually those regions to the south of Changjiang River, which include Pearl Delta Area, where the incidence of the disease is strikingly high.
It is said that the summit received 120 thesis on the studies of urolithiasis.
