Seminar on sharing major development and teaching between branch colleges

Seminar on sharing major development and teaching between branch colleges was held in the International Conference Rome on May 12th and 13th successfully. Hu Jun, president of our university, Liu Jiesheng, vice president, attended and addressed in the meeting. More than 400 members from the main campus, Zhuhai College, Shenzhen Tourism College, and College of Chinese Language and Culture, attended the meeting.

They were leaders or related teachers of 19 sharing majors and 5 public courses teaching institutions. Hu Jun gave a report titled Work Together, Build Together, Develop Together, Increase Major Development Level and Improve Teaching Quality Together at the opening ceremony. He pointed out that there must be uniform quality standards when different campuses sharing majors, characteristic must base on strict unity and strict quality standards.

He also requested that the leaders and teachers of sharing majors in each branch college should pay more attention in undergraduate teaching assessment. They should engage in the work actively, communicate more, work together, be pragmatic and effective.Vice president, Liu Jiesheng also had a speech at the closing ceremony.

He emphasized that major development was the focus of Ministry of Education to evaluate our performance. Whether our school would achieve "excellent" level, depended on the participation and the cohesion of all school members, especially cohesion between different branch colleges. Each teacher must take part in, faced the problems of sharing majors with positive attitudes, and found out solutions to those problems on the basis of the interest of the whole school.

Zhang Ronghua, deputy department director of our school's Office of Academic Affairs made a report titled Strengthen Major Development, Improve Teaching Quality, Increase Undergraduate Teaching Level . He gave suggestions on teaching program, personnel training program, textbook, examination, graduation thesis, teacher resource sharing and so on.

According to different majors, all the participants were divided into 20 discussion groups. Based on the problems existing in the processes of development of sharing majors, teachers from different branch colleges had full communication and exchange during the seminar.
