2007 Key Words Quality, Renovation, Harmonious Campus

In the middle-level-cadres meeting held on March 2^nd, Mr. Hu, the president of our university underlined the key words of all works of the spring semester of 2007, which were Quality, Reform, Harmonious Campus.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Hu made an summary to the goals we had attained last year: the success of attaining the targets of tenth five-year planning and 211 program , the success of conducting centenary celebration, the implementation of Eleventh Five-years Planning and the step-by-step preparation to the undergraduate education accreditation; the university sees progresses in teaching and research etc and growth in its social influence and social reputation.

Mr. Hu also defined the four aspects of the guidelines of this year.

The first aspect is the importance of quality education. The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance has launched a Undergraduate Education Quality and Teaching Rennovation Program , which is another importance action of improving the quality of higher education after the the 211 program and 985 program , according to Mr.

Hu. He said, the university should keep pace with the development of the higher education and steer our attention to the enhancement of the quality of education and take it as our target in the long run. Still, he added, the undergradute education accreditation, which was not only our top priority at present but also of strategic importance for the furture development of our university, should not only be taken as a task but also as a chance.

We should take feasible measure to provide quality education.
