The Fifth New Generation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Seminar Held in Our University

The Opening Ceremony of the Fifth New Generation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Seminar was held in our university on November 20^th. Present on the ceremony also included Mr. Ren Qiliang, Deputy Director of the Overseas Chinese Office of the State Council, Mr. Jiang Shuzhuo and Mr. Wang Hua, vice presidents of our university and heads of the Overseas Chinese Office of Guangdong Province. Mr. Wang Hua chaired the ceremony.

Mr. Ren Qiling said on the opening ceremony that the purpose of holding such seminar was to encourage contacts and exchanges among new generation of overseas Chinese entrepreneurs, and to widen the scope of services for overseas Chinese so as to provide them a favorable platform to learn a real China more accurately and understand the economic development and opportunities in China nowadays.

Mr. Jiang Shuzhuo extended a warm welcome to all the students and introduced the history and characteristics of our university. He said in his speech that he hoped that the students could not only be distinguished entrepreneurs but also agents of cultural contacts.

Kong Linglong, from Malaysia was full of anticipation in the one-week study. He said that the seminar was of great significance to overseas Chinese entrepreneurs for it could offer a chance of self-improvement and could encourage overseas Chinese communities to foster instructive activities. He also hoped that the seminar could help improve cohesion and establish self-identity and sense of belongings to Chinese nation.

It is said that the 31 students ranging from 19 years old to 49 years old are from 14 countries and regions including Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Negro Brunei Darussalam, U.S.A, Australia, Hong Kong, Macao etc will have one-week study in Jinan University, and it is the first time that the seminar has students from Spain, Poland and Belgium. Most of the students are the second generation of well-known overseas Chinese leaders, overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs of economic strength have interests in investment in China.
