A Working Meeting on Implementing the First Evaluation of Internationalization of SCNU

About 40 staff attended the meeting held at Shipai campus in the afternoon of March 9. Present at the meeting were Dr. Liu Ming, President of SCNU, Dr. GuoJie, Vice President of SCNU, administrators and foreign affairs Secretaries from related administration departments and Schools.

Initiated by the Department of Education, Guangdong Province, the first evaluation of Internationalization ever held in the field of Tertiary Education in Guangdong Province is carried out in some chosen universities and colleges in order to push the internationalization. Regarding the implementation of the evaluation, Dr.

GuoJie introduced the requirements of this evaluation. He emphasized that this evaluation would be beneficial to our university by taking a self-evaluation. He said, in the course of the evaluation, we were able to thoroughly analyze, sort out and summarize our international exchange practice so that we could define the goal of the internationalization of SCNU and enhance our job in this field.

Dr. XiaoHua, director for foreign affairs, explained the detailed tasks of the evaluation.

Dr. Liu Ming pointed it out that the internationalization should be considered as a guiding principle for running a school. He also emphasized that every school and department should conduct the evaluation on a practical and realistic basis, and take this opportunity to further steer the school s development into a internationalization path.
