SCNU Sports Delegation Visited Japan s University of Tsukuba

A 19-member delegation from SCNU visited University of Tsukuba(UOT), Japan ,during March 10-14, 2010. Headed by Mr. Huang Xiaobo, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Executive director of SCNU Sports Association, this delegation was composed of a female student badminton team and a male student basketball team,, accompanied by Mr.

Qu Ming, Vice Dean of School of Physical Education and Sports Science; and Mr. Hu Tingsheng, Director of Student Affairs Office. The sports teams were coached by Prof. Li Yijun, director of Sports Department; Prof. Ma Jiping, basketball coach; Miss Pang Wenqi, badminton coach.

During the visit, our student sports teams took part into academic discussions and friendly matches of badminton and basketball against their counterparts from UOT. The matches ended with one victory of 3-0 in female badminton and a defeat of 72-103 in male basketball.

The delegation met the vice president of UOT, dean and vice dean, students and faculty from School of Health and Physical Education, UOT. They also visited some sports facilities such as lab building for PE research, sports ground, basketball field, indoor badminton court, etc.

This visit has enhanced the understanding between SCNU and UOT in sports education, deepened the friendship among their students and teachers, and provided an opportunity to learn from each other.
