The 2010 Asian University Presidents Forum was held in south China's city of Guangzhou under the theme "Asian higher education and regional economic and social development." More than 80 university presidents from more than 20 Asian countries and regions attended this forum. Dr. Liu Ming, SCNU President, attended this event as well.
Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong called for more cooperations in higher education to enhance Asia's prosperity and development.She suggested China and other Asian nations should make higher education cooperation a priority and deepen exchanges and cooperation in talent cultivation, science research, social services and cultural transmission.
