Best Poster of the HOPE Meeting

GENG Cong a student from department of modern physics of USTC, got Best Poster Presentation Award in the 3rd Hope Meeting on Mar 11,2011.

The 3rd HOPE Meeting was held in Tokyo, Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, from March 7 to 11. The organization committee was chaired by Dr. Makoto KOBAYASHI. The meeting assembled 107 young researchers and doctoral students from 14 countries and regions of the Asia Pacific.

Under the foundation of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 14 students from 12 universities and institutes of China mainland participated in the meeting. Besides the communication with Nobel Prize Winner and students from the Asia-Pacific regions, participants needed to prepare the posts which contain the latest results and achievements in their respective research field.

Geng Cong exhibited the latest results on Beijing Spectrometer III, which was granted to Best Poster Presentation Award by the Chair of the third hope meeting Dr. Makoto KOBAYASHI who is Nobel Prize Winner in physics in 2008, on behalf of University of Science and Technology of China and BES Collaboration.

Committee selected 5 best posters in 107.

Best Poster of the HOPE Meeting

The 1st HOPE Meeting was organized by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) in 2007, which aimed to improve the science and technology in Asia, develop the interest of Asian studentsin science and technology, strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between Asian students, and promote the sound development of science and technology in Asia. The subjected field of the 3rd HOPE Meeting is physics (and related field). Nine Nobel laureates were invited to address the meeting.
