From March 21st to 22nd, the Food Safety Delegation from Hong Kong Polytechnic University paid a special trip to School of Food Science and Technology (SFST) of JU. Led by Prof. Huang Yongde from Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, the delegation was consisted of 10 professors and experts.
Prof. Chen Wei, Dean of SFST introduced to the distinguished guests the splendid history, the developmental progress and the present status of SFST, and highlighted its advantages in fields of food science and education. The two parties also had a discussion about the cooperation forms and contents of education and researches in undergraduate course for the future. During the visit, professors from Poly-U made a series of lectures which were all warmly welcomed by students and faculty of SFST. The three lectures were Mechanistic study of foodborne pathogens and toxins , Fluorescent sensors for beta-lactamases and beta-lactam antibiotics and Chemical method development for high-throughput and rapid detection of harmful substances in food . The visiting professors from Hong Kong Polytechnic University highly commented the education and scientific research strength of JU in food science and technology. Furthermore, the delegation expressed a sincerely wish to enhance the communication and cooperation between two universities hereafter.
