Researchers from National Ecosystem Health Laboratory at EPA Paid a Visit

On July 6th, on invitation of Jiangnan Development and Research Institute and Wuxi Development and Research Center for Low-Carbon City, Dr. Daniel Campbell, researcher at National Ecosystem Health Laboratory in U.S. Environmental Protection Agency came to Jiangnan University and held an academic report entitled An Introduction to Energy Systems Theory, Emergy Analysis, Environmental Accounting, and Ecosystem Modeling.

Some teachers and students from School of Environmental and Civil Engineering, School of Business, School of Mathematics and Honor School of Jiangnan University attended the meeting.

Dr. Campbell mainly introduced the formation of emergy theory, the fruits of relevant theoretical research and successful applications of emergy theory, which provided a good learning opportunity for teachers working on autecology and ecological economics at our university. After the meeting, the experts also visited Research Center of Energy Regulation at our university, and made suggestions on further cooperation about school emergy analysis.
