India : SITRA promotes application of IT in textiles

South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) is organising a one-day Workshop cum Exhibition on ‘application of Information Technology in textile industry’ on 7l August 2007 at SITRA.
The workshop, sponsored by the Department of Information Technology under Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India, will be inaugurated by Shri T.K.Sarkar, Senior Director, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, New Delhi and Shri.
Tara Sankar, Additional Director, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India, New Delhi will deliver the Keynote Address.
The workshop will feature technical presentations by experts from IT industry. The focal theme of the workshop will be 'Application of Information Technology in textile industry, IT related services and their importance'.
Leading IT players in Textiles like Datatex (Infinite India), Premier, Ramco, Cherrytec, Kalpatharu, Sudarshan, Sholingur, Indus along with organizations like SIMA are participating in the workshop/exhibition to make their presentations and also to showcase the working modules of IT related solutions/products to the textile sector.
More than 100 managers / decision makers / captains of the textile industry / associations will be participating in the workshop. An exhibition which will be held concurrently with the workshop is open to public from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.
