India : J&K handicrafts profit jumps 28%

Abdul Majid Khandy, Managing Director, J&K Handicrafts (Sales and Export) Corporation Limited, chaired the recently organized meeting for performance review.
Statistics revealed that this year, the sales revenue generated by the corporation soared by 28 percent compared to last year. It is expected to achieve a sales target of Rs 1,227 lakh during 2007-08.
Abdul Majid emphasized that events like crafts bazaar, expositions and domestic and international fairs must be conducted successfully this year so that it provides the much-neede boost in sales and increases the export revenue.
