India : 'Do the Kappa'initiative in Bangalore

Kappa, the Italian fashion sportswear brand launched its unique “Do the Kappa” initiative in Bangalore. Kappa recognized worldwide through its unmistakable ‘Omini’ logo roped in Bangalore’s who’s-who to recreate the unique 40 year old logo.
Four decades ago, a photographer during a shoot realized that he had come up with more than just a pretty picture - a shot of a young man and woman sitting back-to-back, which gave birth to Kappa’s Omini logo.
Present at the launch were leading Bangalore-based personalities including Badminton icon, Prakash Padukone and his daughter Anisha Padukone, photographer Waseem Khan & model, designer & entrepreneur Mariam Handa, renowned Radio Jockeys Chaitanya Hegde & Sheetal Iyer were sportily ‘Doing the Kappa’.
The other celebrities who have also participated in this initiative are marathoner Gul Mohammed & Asian Championship medalist & Arjuna Awardee - Reeth Abraham, Co-creator of Chisel & F-Chisel Fitness evangelist Shardul & Satya Sinha and consultant Harish Bijoor with wife Nina Bijoor.
The innovative ‘Do the Kappa’ wall at the Kappa store created with pictures of these celebrities was unveiled by Mr. Fazle A Naqvi, Executive Director, LMG Brands India Ltd.
Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Fazle A. Naqvi said “The idea of recreating the Omini logo, 40 years after its birth, was an idea that excited all of us at the Kappa team."
The underlying thought was to create a unique ‘connect’ with our patrons and engage them with the brand in an innovative manner.
